Waiheke Wine Tour with the Ferry

Which Waiheke wine tours include the ferry from Auckland, which sailing each tour wants you on, the Fullers360 fares and crossing, and the last boats back (Oct 2026).

Updated October 2026

Only one guided wine tour on GetYourGuide includes the ferry from Auckland: Fullers360’s Taste of Waiheke, from US$163 a person (checked October 2026), with the return walk-up ferry, a coach and guide, three tastings and a two-course lunch at Batch. Every other wine tour meets you at Matiatia wharf on the island, so you buy the ferry yourself: a Fullers360 walk-up return is NZ$65 for an adult (October 2026), about 40 to 45 minutes each way.

Catch the earlier boat

The tours meet the ferry, and when guests come on a later one, the day starts late for everyone. On the three-vineyard tour, guests in December 2025 and October 2026 wrote that the group left late or felt rushed because others came on a later sailing; on the beachfront lunch tour, one guest who came on Island Direct’s 9:10 boat wrote in April 2026 that those on the later ferry, which would have got them there just in time, ran late. Cruise passengers: one guest in March 2025 missed the start because the ship arrived too close to the ferry. Allow for the walk-up queue at busy times, or pay NZ$75 for a Priority ticket, which books a sailing and boards you before the standard queue (Fullers360’s fares, October 2026). Island Direct, a second operator, sails from Pier 13 at the Downtown Ferry Terminal (Island Direct’s site); the premium wines tour names its 9:15 sailing.

Staying on for dinner

Several guides will drop you in Oneroa village instead of the wharf, and the late ferries make an evening on the island easy: Fullers’ last weekday sailing from Waiheke is 00:30, and 23:00 on Sundays and public holidays (October 2026).
